It All Starts With Quality Mushrooms

Quality extracts start with quality mushrooms. Our mushrooms are grown deep in the mountains of the Far East, the birthplace and capital of functional mushrooms.

These tranquil, forested mountains provide the ideal environment for growing mushrooms. With bountiful clean air and crystal-clear mineral water, these regions have a long history of producing exceptionally high-quality, pure and nutrient dense mushrooms. We believe that sourcing our ingredients from their natural habitat is fundamental to ensuring the premium quality we strive for.

Our mushrooms are grown using specially selected strains and optimal, tried and true cultivation techniques. This combines the best of both worlds: wild strains are collected deep from within the forests and grown using modern, organic farming methods certified in the US and EU. Completely free from herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilisers.

We specifically designed our cultivation process to maximise the quality of our mushrooms. Our mushrooms are grown in greenhouses with natural lighting and airflow. Expert cultivators closely monitor the growing conditions, such as temperature and humidity, to promote development of the desired bioactive compounds like beta-glucans and terpenes.

We ensure strict quality standards at every stage of cultivation, starting from strain selection to harvest and processing. This commitment to quality means that our final products meet our strict standards of potency and purity.

We're All Fruiting Body

At Shroomex, we make all of our extracts from 100% whole mushroom fruiting bodies. The fruiting body is the recognisable part of the mushroom that grows above ground – the cap and stem. This is where the majority of the beneficial bioactive compounds, such as beta-glucans, terpenes, and polyphenols, are concentrated.

You may see some companies use "mycelial biomass," "mycelium," or "full spectrum" extracts. These products are made using mycelium, the mushroom’s roots-like structure grown on grains. The end product is high in grain starch and may contain much less of the beneficial compounds.

This is exactly why we use fruiting bodies: to ensure our extracts are fully loaded with all the desired nutrients and compounds functional mushrooms have to offer.

Our use of 100% fruiting bodies is backed by science; many of the over 1,000 scientific studies of the potential benefits of functional mushrooms have focused on the fruiting body.

The fruiting body is a rich source of bioactive compounds, including beta-glucans, terpenes, and polyphenols, the same compounds being studied for their potential to support a variety of health and wellbeing benefits.

Unlike myceliated grain alternatives, our products contain absolutely no mycelium, fillers or starch. Just 100% fruiting body mushrooms

Unlocking the Power of Mushrooms

The desired compounds within functional mushrooms are normally locked up inside the tough cell walls of the fruiting body, which our bodies are unable to break down. In order for these compounds to be made bioavailable and absorbed by our bodies, they must first be extracted.

We use advanced dual extraction technology to maximise the bioavailability and concentration of our extracts.

First, we dry the mushrooms and then grind them into a powder. Afterwards, the powder is soaked in hot water, followed by alcohol to release the desired compounds. Water extraction is ideal for beta-glucans, whereas alcohol extracts terpenes. This dual extraction method helps to unlock a broader variety of compounds than single extraction methods.

Our 15:1 dual extracts use a whopping 15g of fresh mushrooms to make just 1g of pure, concentrated extract!

Quality and Transparency You Can Trust

Shroomex is dedicated to the highest levels of quality and transparency. We manufacture in GMP-certified UK facilities, ensuring our ingredients meet rigorous standards for manufacturing and safety.

To us, transparency and peace of mind are key. Each and every one of our extracts is put through rigorous testing and we share the verified levels of bioactives found in our products. That way, you can rest assured that you're getting precisely what's stated on the label.
